Welcome!

Parents are the first and foremost educators in children’s lives and our job is to support you and your child, and to partner with you to help them develop to the best of their potential.

There are lots of ways that you can help with this! Most importantly is to keep in touch with us. We will send regular updates but we also want to know about things that are happening at home. This could be significant events, activities or achievements for your child (if it’s significant for your child we want to know, however small you might feel it is!). We call these ‘wow’ moments and we’ll give you some ‘Wow vouchers’ to send in if you capture one.

You can also volunteer in the setting, either regularly or as a one off. We love to hear from you if you have skills or talents that the children would enjoy learning about, an interesting job (e.g. a nurse, dentist, police officer, soldier, firefighter etc), or if you want to help out with reading a story or gardening for a few hours.

Where possible we hold regular drop in sessions, sometimes for special occasions such as Mother’s Day and sometimes so your child can show you what they’ve been up to during the day.

From time to time the setting may hold workshops or courses for parents. These usually look at how adults can help children to learn and develop when they are at home and how this fits with what they do in their time with us. Courses on similar topics are held locally by PATA and other organisations: watch out for information about these. If there’s anything that you would be really interested to know about please don’t hesitate to ask us.
